Warming up is going to help you get your muscles ready for the long amount of time you spend walking. When people don't warm up in their exercises, they usually get injuries such as cramps and lightheadedness.
What I do to warm up before I walk is I briskly walk for a good 10 minutes and then go faster. Aside from that, you should also be making sure you have a good pair of shoes that are comfortable to walk in. This is how to walk to lose weight.
