I see and hear commercials about losing weight and eating healthy every day, but unfortunately many of them are not entirely true.
I learned that many companies manipulate the truth in order to sell their products. For example, some foods boast things like 0% trans fat per serving when they actually contain a small amount of trans fat. They just round the percentage to the nearest whole number, like .49% could be rounded down to 0%. And what about foods that contain large amounts of sugar, but label their products as Fat-Free to make the product appear healthy. While the Fat-Free claim might be true, it's terribly misleading because any product that contains a large amount of sugar is not healthy for anyone. Then there are the numerous drug companies offering instant weight loss solutions which get prescribed or recommended by doctors. The problem is that when companies use marketing techniques to mask the unhealthy aspects of their products, they are cheating consumers out of their true health potential. Secret #1 - Fat Is My Friend
The first weight loss secret I learned was that if the body takes in too much food or something it doesn't know how to process like chemicals or drugs, it stores the item for processing later. Similar to storing and freezing leftovers after a big meal, the unprocessed item gets surrounded by fat and sent to be stored somewhere in the body. The fat actually protects the body from attempting to process items it can't handle while preserving the contents of the 'package' at the same time. Then later when the body is ready to process the package, it burns the fat off and releases the contents of the package into the body for processing.
When I started burning fat to lose weight, there were a few days that I became sick and experienced severe headaches. This side-effect occurred when the contents of the fat being burned off were toxic or overwhelming to my system and made me feel sick until they were eliminated from my body.
Secret #2 - Detox Programs and Supplements
Another secret about weight loss that I learned is about detox programs. Many nutritionists recommend detox programs in addition to losing weight in order to cleanse the mess you've made of your organs and systems. I learned that while I've been eating poorly all throughout my life, my organs and systems had become over stressed, tired, sluggish, clogged up, and started to shut down. And just like the process of burning off fat, when I detoxed my body, I experienced sickness and severe headaches until the toxins were completely flushed out of my system.

I learned I had to eat these foods in the right combination and the right portions in order for my metabolism to work right and burn fat. Then I added a brisk 15-20 minute walk each day and lost 15 pounds in just two weeks.
