Reasons Why You Need Weight Loss Motivation

Trying to lose weight is not an easy thing to do. It is an activity that can be physically and emotionally draining. This is the reason why many people stop in the middle of their weight loss program. No matter how seemingly easy or attractive the weight loss program is, many people are not able to finish it. If they do stick to the program, it's because there haven't been any weight lost yet.
Losing interest or the zest for losing weight is one of the reasons why many people are still considered overweight or obese. They want to lose the excess fats, but the thing is, they always end up starting and stopping weight loss programs. This is because the minute they feel disheartened, or lose their weight loss motivation, they stop the program. As soon as the drive and motivation hits them again, they start another or the same program. As a result, they end up shedding no pounds or gaining more of them.
When you decide to shed some of your excess 'baggage', you should have the right weight loss motivation. Why? Here are two main reasons that can show you why you need the right motivation.
Reason #1: It gets you going
This is the main reason for having the right motivation. In the first place, without the motivation, you would never even consider or think of losing weight. In the second place, you would not even have the energy to start a weight loss program without any kind of motivation.
As it is, weight loss motivation can be anything. It's up to you since it is personal. Nobody dictates it to you. It is the main reason why you want to lose weight. It could be of a health scare such as a developing heart problem, or you want to improve your self and social image, or it could be the tiny swim wear you recently bought.
When you have the right motivation, you should stick to it and keep it. You may lose weight but never your motivation. When you lose it, you will end up disheartened with what you are presently doing and be unable to finish any kind of program.
Reason #2: It helps you reach your goals
When you are motivated, the inspiration that you get from it gives you enough power to never stop a program unless you have achieved your goals. As have been said, motivation is the one that keeps you going. When you keep your thoughts in line with your motivation, you will never lose sight of your goals. The more you think about why you are trying to losing weight, the lesser you feel the need to stop. Temptations of stopping your weight loss program may often come your way, but if you are motivated enough, you will never even give it a second's thought or consideration.
Being motivated to lose weight is not wrong. As long as you do need to lose weight, you have to admit that any kind of motivation will do you good. So when you find your reason to lose weight, grab hold of it. Hold on to it until the scale numbers drop down to a healthy weight that is just right for your body.
If you are looking for a weight loss program that includes motivation and support, we highly recommend you try the Nutrisystem diet plan. For a detailed Nutrisystem diet review visit Fast-Easy-Diet.com.

Tips to Keep Up Weight Loss Motivation

Are you finding it hard to keep on losing weight when all you have to do is just keep going on? You have already started your weight loss regimen and you have reached your goal in losing those excess pounds. This is one reason why people come back to their original weight. It is in the nature of every human being to lose track of what they have started in reaching a goal once they are already satisfied with the results.
Motivating yourself to keep losing weight even if you have already lost some will prove to be harder than the process itself. It is usually more challenging to keep off the pounds that you have already lost.
Stay Diet Disciplined. Motivating and keeping yourself disciplined will prove to be more rewarding than just keeping your workout regimen. Everything starts with proper diet and nutrition to be able to stay to your preferred weight.
Stay Realistic. You have to accept the fact that you will be seduced by tempting food. Denying to yourself that you want something will only add to more temptation and cravings. You cannot say that you will never ever have a taste of that high calorie apple pie because you will just end up failing yourself if you do. So being realistic means that you will find a way to be able to taste it but you are going to make sure that you don't over eat.
Stay Active. In addition to healthy diet, exercising or at least keeping yourself active will allow you to keep off that excess weight. Again, it falls down to motivation. Finding ways on how to do things that will require the use of your body will help a lot in keeping those extra pounds off.
Motivation is the key to reaching your goals. It is not something that you will stop at once you reach your goal. Keeping yourself motivated is a life long journey.

Weight Loss Motivation - An Essential Element For Your Success

A lot of people feel they 'lost' it, when it comes to the motivation behind weight loss endeavors. Whether it is down the back of the sofa, or dropped in the street, the motivation just isn't there to lose weight. In fact, there are hundreds of people who exercise 3-5 times per week in the beginning, but still fail to meet their weight loss and fitness goals because they can't stick with it for long.
Can this motivation be regained again so that one doesn't miss this one important element in losing weight?
Having really targeted goals is the first step to make sure you don't lose the motivation again. As a fitness expert I see a lot of clients for weight loss and they all say, "I'm trying to lose some weight, can you help me."
Instantly, I know they are struggling and their chances of succeeding on their diet are slim.
How?
Because they are "trying to lose SOME weight". What is the exact definition of some weight? Some weight is a pound, some weight is an ounce, some weight is 100 pounds! Some weight is an indefinable quantity that you are not really sure about.
When you are dieting, you have little weight loss motivation because sub-consciously, you do not know where you are going to end up with your weight loss program. All you know is that you are going to lose "SOME" weight. So if you diet for a bit and then find yourself a pound lighter ... CONGRATULATIONS! You've lost SOME weight.
Yeah sure, it's not what you really had in mind, I'm pretty sure you wanted to lose more than a pound, but sub-consciously - you've achieved your goal, so congratulations ... and back to eating you go.
While on dieting it is absolutely vital to know exactly how much weight you need to lose. This will provide you with weight loss motivation and the keys to success. If you know exactly how much you are getting rid of then
1) You know what you are aiming for
2) You know when you have got there
3) There is no confusion between your conscious and sub-conscious minds
4) You can stay motivated as you progress towards your weight loss target
Now, this may sound to you like it is very simplistic and silly and that "it's far too childish to work" (as a client said to me). But ... and let me just say that again in capital letters, BUT it works ... why does it work? You may ask ... It works because your sub-conscious mind is like a child! It is very simple, very honest and without guile.
Also remember if you want to look and feel better than you have in years and you want to protect yourself from several health risks, then weight loss is something you have to go for. Excess body fat is responsible for many physical threats like heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. So, think of benefits that it is going to bring in terms of long term vital health.
Also joining a weight loss workout that you can enjoy in the long run is important. This way you ensure you are going after some long term efforts you can stick with and hopefully see results. This can be a crucial factor in maintaining motivation.
Don't make mistakes like skipping meals thinking it will help you lose more weight. If you see negative results because of your mistakes, your motivation may get hurt.
So play this childish game with yourself, put your weight loss goals own on paper and find your weight loss motivation and track your every move and results.
Be a smart weight loser. The starting block for any long-term success is changing the way you think about your body and your health. So, create a mindset of healthy change with no time limits. Avoid weight loss scams and know which weight loss pills and programs produce the best results in the least possible time.

Weight Loss Motivation - Are You Motivated To Continue Your Weight Loss?

Obesity and weight loss are a common problem among people. Today's nutrition includes too much fat, too much sugar, and too many processed foods. Weight loss motivation often starts out in high gear and quickly goes down hill. Many people are motivated many times in their lives to lose weight but keeping the motivation seems to be the problem.
Weight loss motivation remains high only with positive feedback and a support mechanism. After the initial fast weight loss people are often left tired, hungry and either at a plateau of weight loss or losing minimal amounts of weight. This decreases the level of weight loss motivation and the client is left high and dry.
Weight loss success is higher with both a positive feedback and support mechanism. Positive feedback for weight loss motivation comes from positive movement toward your goal. Your support person also can be a motivating force to keep you on track and help to keep your weight loss motivation high.
Failure happens when we diet. The definition of a diet is to deprive yourself of specific foods you believe keep your from losing weight. Those feelings of deprivation will lead to decreased weight loss motivation and ultimate failure. Diets have come to be associated with hunger, fatigue, and deprivation.
But you aren't alone! Many people are on that roller coaster.
Stop the cycle and fix the problem by first understanding that you are changing your eating habits for life and not developing a quick start diet. This is not a 'diet". You are learning how to put your body into a burning mode as opposed to a starvation mode.
When your body feels deprived and starved your metabolism slows considerably and weight loss is close to impossible. This decreases your motivation and your positive feedback. You end up going back to eating the way you did before the 'diet' and your body will put on more weight than you had before the diet.
Learn what good eating habits are. Portions are really smaller than you might think. The amount of meat that is one portion is considerably smaller than the normal portions at a restaurant or fast food place. By learning good eating habits and improving your rate of success you will also keep your weight loss motivation high.
Weight loss success depends greatly on weight loss motivation and your ability to maintain a high level to achieve the dietary changes necessary. It is up to you to focus on ways to improve your positive feedback and find a support mechanism that works for your personality.

Seven Weight Loss Motivation Tips

As you pass your way and look up and see gigantic billboards asking you to participate in your weight lose programs, as you scan the daily news papers you find dozens of ads on how to be smart and look like your favorite film stars by losing weight, yet you never get the right motivation to climb that tough hill which gives you smart looks and a feather light body. You hear your close friends telling you how they lost the weight and then gained more weight within no time as the thousand watt lamp of motivation faded within no time inducing them to gain more weight. So how to build up this much desired motivation? The most important key is motivation, this keeps the lamp burning and enables you to glow as a slim, trim fat-free collection of healthy bones. Even modest amounts of weight loss can improve your health significantly. Loss of 10% of body weight can reduce blood pressure, high cholesterol, triglyceride, and high blood sugar levels
You success therefore is not the diet, not the calculation of calories of every pinch of your intake, but your psychological preparedness to look healthy, trim, and fit.
The weight loss industry remains huge, with a worldwide, estimated revenue of over $60 billion per year, with no signs of slowing down. Obesity in the United States is increasingly on the high.
When your motivation is the strongest, that's when you are most successful in losing your weight and looking healthy, trim and fit. Like the radius of a circle you should never be short in your approach. Most of the time it becomes a spiral with the center of the circle and losing its identity. So long as you think of the radius you are successful throughout the program and beyond. It is the same radius which will help you maintain your superb new shape later on.
Motivation Tip 1.
You see your favorite film star on the T.V. His/ Her looks are overpowering. You have got everything that the hero has got, then why should you be behind him in your looks, weight and the topography? A desire is born in you. This is the most important aspect of your program. You should keep this desire burning to make your program a success. Your desire has a greater say than your Will Power. Set your desire on wild fire so that it engulfs your lethargy and your habit of lying down on the sofa to watch the T.V. Your desire will be a torrent which will take care to drive away every pinch of calorie loaded food branding it as a toxin.
Let this desire make a list of various reasons for losing weight and what is branded as toxins. Going through a list will be the first priority in the morning followed by a strict audit of what has been gained or lost in the previous 24 hours. A record and graph of the weight fluctuations should be maintained to the minutest detail.
Motivation Tip 2.
Weight loss is a behavior and mind based problem that can be cured by the Law of Attraction, which is a form of self-hypnosis.. Command your mind to see that the weight is reduced in a certain proportion every week. This procedure never fails as the power of mind over the body is limitless. The message lodged deep into your brain supports your decision to lose weight constantly. Hypnosis helps you get the willpower to lose weight effectively. It overshadows the part of the mind that gives you that urge to eat foods that are not good for you like rich desserts and fried foods. If you are motivated, hypnosis can help absolutely. Your subconscious mind has the power to end your struggle with food.
You can become your own mastermind using a sort of ZEN OF THINmentality. Using the Law of Attraction is a form of hypnosis and it changes the way you think about food. You can train your brain to lose cravings for unhealthy food, overeating decreases and weight gradually is reduced. The unconscious mind can be programmed to use stressful thoughts as a trigger for relaxing thoughts. It is a blueprint for future slimness and better shape. The unconscious mind is given a detailed game plan to act upon. We as human beings are always unconsciously manipulating our existence. Learn to use the Law of Attraction to guide you on your road to thin.
Hypnosis today earns a large portion of its success through the aid of weight loss (body sculpting).
Motivation Tip 3.
Imagine already having achieved success. You are the replica of a slim and trim figure of your favorite film star. Your figure is such that you are a challenge to his personality. Imagine you are passing through the street and people are greeting you as some one having overtaken the number one hero of the country. How you will feel? How you will react to these people. Your burning desire has picked up greater force and you need to keep it up.
Motivation Tip 4.
If people are calling you by names behind your back you can take it as a blessing. They are only reminding you to shed that extra weight. In that case you need extra mileage for the desired focus. You should look for innovative methods to circumvent the burning desire. Classify certain days as Sacred days or weight loss motivation days. Your birthday, all birthdays of your kids or brothers/sisters, parents, your annual vacation are all slimming days. Each sacred day should have a target weight shedding schedule. There should always be an improvement in the targeted reduction of weight.
Motivation Tip 5.
Reward yourself when you have met the targets and the desired weight has been reduced - not by a hearty lunch but by anything other than food intake. Meet a friend whom you had a desire to see for the last many years. Or buy your favorite book as a reward. Attach some annexure too while the reward process is being executed. For example you will go to the book shop by walking fast, (not using car, bus or train) you will avoid having cream cake on the way and eat instead a good fruit which will give you more fiber and less fat.
Motivation Tip 6.
Watch out your metamorphosis from a baggy cocoon into a slim cigar using a camera. Start from Day 1 of your program. Keep track by clicking your pictures every Sunday in the same fit costume and see the improvement in the photographs and how the costume - say your swimsuit - attains a disproportionate size as your skin is rinsed of the unwanted fat. Show these to your friends and well wishers and hear their comments. Each of them will have a story to tell about their own slimming experiences. Going back to tip three, get a picture of yourself of how you would look after looking the weight. Some companies offer these as custom photo magnets you can place on your fridge, or cards you can keep in your wallet. You will gain valuable knowledge as you share your weight loss marathons.
Motivation Tip 7.
Build up a an information collection about losing weight. There are dozens of websites, magazines, e-zines which tell you everything about losing weight, hazards of bad food, histories of people who are over weight and are unable to lose weight except with the risk to their lives. You will find very interesting episodes in Discovery and other channels on your T.V. The purpose in short is to keep your thinking canalized on losing weight all the time. These are unconscious commands to your mind to effect the desired change in your weight.

Weight Loss Motivation - Do You Hate to Exercise?

Motivation can be a big problem for a lot of people. Do you know you need to lose fat, know how great it would feel to succeed, but for some reason don't take the actions to do it? If so, you are not the only one. Motivation can be a tough thing to get past.
In order to get past this, you need to understand how weight loss motivation works.
The first thing that you need to do is stop looking at motivation as something that can be achieved and preserved. It is a common thought that once you "get motivated", you are forever in that state of mind. I assure you, this is not the case at all.
Fat loss motivation is NOT something to be achieved and preserved.
Fat loss motivation IS an emotion that is just like being happy or sad. There are times when everyone has good days and bad days. Motivation for weight loss is no different. There will be days when you will feel like you want to do something, and days when you won't. Instead of fighting this and coming down on yourself, you should understand that this is perfectly normal. The key is to be aware of this and use it to your advantage, not as an excuse.
Another big factor in weight loss motivation is what your subconscious mind attaches to exercise.
When you hear the word "exercise", how do you feel? Excited? Frustrated? Angry? Anxious?
If the answer to that question was anything negative, I can tell that you have negative mental links to exercise. Maybe it was a specific bad experience in the past, or maybe you have just not been successful with exercise and it has frustrated you. If the word exercise gives you a negative vibe, then you need to get past that. This all ties into weight loss motivation because your subconscious thoughts are what dictates your feelings about exercise.
If you feel like weight loss motivation is a challenge and you have negative mental links to exercise, here are some great tips to help get past that.
1. Workout with a friend with similar goals.
Research studies show that social support is a huge indicator to how well you will adhere to a program. You may noy enjoy working out alone, but what if you were with someone every step of the way who was going through the same thing? Your motivation for weight loss would change dramatically!
2. Workout at home.
If the thought of going to the gym bothers you, don't worry. You can do a great home exercise fat loss routine with just a few pieces of inexpensive equipment. Once you are in great shape, you can go show off at the gym =)
3. Don't be so hard on yourself.
I am a personal trainer. I have spoken with a lot of people on motivation. The one thing that almost all of them have in common is that they are very hard on themselves for not "making" themselves workout. The more critical you are of yourself, the more negativity you bring into your weight loss efforts. Learning to be disciplined but also accepting that exercising for weight loss is not always easy. You can be successful, and you have to believe that you can do it. Motivation for weight loss is something you can achieve!
I hope that you have learned a lot about weight loss motivation in this article. Remember that your motivation for weight loss will have its ups and downs. As long as your stay positive, persistent, and enthusiastic, you can make it work!

3 Weight Loss Motivation Tips to Keep Your Weight Loss on Track

If you want to lose weight but have struggled to follow through in the past, you can absolutely slim down easily this time around, but you do have to ensure that you don't fall into your old diet traps (at least without having weight loss motivation tips that work!).
To ensure that you stay focused on even the toughest days, it helps to have weight loss motivation tips on hand that remind you why you're doing all this great work to get your body healthy, fit and fabulous.
Here are 3 powerful weight loss motivation tips to guide you:
1) Make the time you spend concentrating on losing weight as fun and interesting as possible. Whether you're a single mom with little outside help with your children or you're a married mom simply juggling the busy schedules of multiple kids, losing weight tends to be pretty low on the priority list of things to accomplish every day, which is why it's likely been a problem in the past. However, my favorite weight loss motivation tips involve fun because if you can find ways to ensure that you're enjoying yourself, you'll find ways to want to press on even on tougher days.
Combine food prep with kid time. Recruit little ones to "help" you in the kitchen by chopping fruit or veggies with a dull knife while you're making a healthy dish. Use small kids' body weight in your workouts instead of barbells, or let the kids be your spotter during your routine if you are using small, safe weights. Or simply turn on some music and dance away with your kids or on your own. The best part is that being active helps you feel better, manage stress and increases your energy level, so find ways to be active that you love, even if it's not a normal gym workout.
The simplest weight loss motivation tips are often the very best ones, and this one alone can be all it takes to get you focused.
2) Set a goal to simplify your focus. Do not simply say, "I want to lose weight". Be specific so that the goal is attainable and personalized to your needs. You will also need to set a time frame. Saying ambiguous things like "by my birthday" or "by the winter" will not help you achieve your goal. The less specific you are, the more weight loss motivation tips you'll need because you're not telling your mind which direction to go - which is the equivalent of saying "I'd like to go to the grocery store" and then driving around aimlessly trying this road and then that one without necessarily getting even one mile closer to your goal.
I don't typically recommend goals like losing a particular number of pounds in a week simply because we cannot control the rate at which our bodies lose weight healthfully, but at the same time, we can absolutely set and achieve goals like taking care of our bodies with healthy, weight-loss-promoting foods for 6 weeks. Aim to achieve things you can control rather than things that are out of your hands, and you'll feel more steady throughout the process.
This is one of the most powerful weight loss motivation tips of all because if you can get focused on a specific goal, it's much easier to achieve success.
3) Partner with a friend who's also looking to slim down and you'll find that your motivation stays much stronger due to the accountability factor alone, much less having someone to keep you company. You may even be able to ask your husbands to take turns watching the kids while you and your buddy work out, prep food or brainstorm how to handle tough situations. You can also share recipes and weight loss motivation tips, as well as information on local resources that support your weight loss.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that you want your healthy new habits to become part of The Flow - which is what I call it when you hit your stride, and suddenly it seems much easier to stay on track without needing a lot of outside weight loss motivation tips.
Following these weight loss motivation tips should help you reach The Flow even sooner. Give each idea an honest try even if it initially seems too simple to make a difference, and you'll be getting results in no time!

3 Weight Loss Motivation Tips You Have to Know About to Succeed

Maintaining your motivation to lose weight through a diet process is an extremely important thing. It'll make it easier to stick to the diet for a long time and will help you to make the most of it. However, diet motivation is a hard thing to maintain since a diet is a time when you do restrict yourself somewhat on what you can eat and the way you lead your life. So how can you do this? This article will provide some tips for just that.
3 Weight Loss Motivation Tips
1. Enlist the support of your loved ones - Your environment greatly affects your motivation to lose weight. For this you need to support of your friends and family. After all, it'll be pretty hard to stick to a diet if your family eats candy and fried food at the same table where you eat. Believe me, if you state your goals to your family, they'll be willing to help you. Even your children will be glad to pitch in. They'll serve as a force which will help you find motivation to lose weight and to maintain it.
2. Don't compare yourself to other people - There will always be someone who loses weight faster and easier than you. But what difference does it make? You should concentrate on yourself alone. If you succeed in losing weight, that's the main thing. Even if your weight loss rate is slower than some people's, as long as you're losing weight, you're doing great. Keep up your weight loss motivation. You deserve it.
3. Paint a picture of your future - You started this weight loss process for a certain goal: you want to look better, be healthier, and feel better. I want you to create a mental image of how your life will be like when you have attained those goals. This will serve as a beacon for you whenever you feel slightly down during the diet and will help you maintain your weight loss motivation. If you keep your goals in front of you, you will have something that's worth dieting for. As you approach your goal, it'll be even easier to stick to your diet and make it work better for you.

Weight Loss Motivation: 'I CAN' DO IT!

Several months ago I was in desperate need of weight loss motivation. As I was observing my friend's kindergarten classroom I was struck by an idea when I saw her in action. One of her students was filled with self-doubt and seemed to truly believe that he was unable to accomplish the task my friend was requesting of him. She kneeled by his side and patiently showed him once again what was expected of him. After hearing, "I can't do it!" several times, she quietly got up and walked across the room. When she returned she was holding a can that was covered in 'google eyes.' She placed it on his desk and asked, "Do you know what this is?" He shook his head and she whispered, "It's an 'EYE CAN' and every time you doubt yourself you can put it on your desk." He looked up at her with an extremely confused look on his face and she went on to explain, "When you see this can sitting on your desk it will remind you that you 'CAN' do it!" To make sure he understood, she asked him again what it was. He looked up at her and replied, "It is an 'I CAN'!" He bent down and began working with a new found confidence and the 'I CAN' stayed on his desk for the remainder of the day.
I couldn't get the 'I CAN' out of my mind as I knew it would somehow be able to help me with my weight loss motivation. I decided to create an 'I CAN' for myself and use it each time my weight loss motivation began to waiver. I decided to use a Pringles can (fat-free of course!) because it had a snap off lid. I covered my can with paper and then decorated it with pictures that represented some of my weight loss goals. The next thing I needed to decide was what would go into the can. I decided not to limit myself as I just wanted the can to represent motivation, in all forms.
Here are some of the things in my 'I CAN':
~a picture of myself at my starting weight
~several fortune cookie fortunes that have motivated me
~a note from my son telling me he was proud of me
~money: I put my loose change in the can and I will use it to reward my weight loss
~motivational quotes that I have gotten from my Weight Watchers meetings or have found online
~my goal weight
~ hand written notes describing the many milestones in my weight loss journey
~my Weight Watchers awards
Sometimes when I am having a bad day and my weight loss motivation has taken a nose dive, I take my 'I CAN" and pour the contents out on my bed. I take time to look at each item that I have placed inside and within moments I realize once again that 'I CAN' do it, 'I CAN' reach my weight loss goals!
I have lost 28 ½ pounds so far and the 'I CAN' helps me tremendously! If you find that you are having trouble keeping your weight loss motivation strong, consider making an 'I CAN' for yourself! Before long you will be saying to yourself, "I CAN do it!"

Great Weight Loss Motivation Tips - These Will Help You Reach Success at Last

Well, the holidays are fast approaching, and with all that great tasting food laying around, and all the holiday parties to attend, you could probably use some weight loss motivation tips. If there is one thing that seems to happen to everyone during the holidays it is that they eat more. Something else is that many people set goals for the following year, many of which include some form of weight loss. In fact, losing weight is probably the most common new year's resolution.
Goal setting is a great thing and it can really help to achieve weight loss targets. You can use it as a form of motivation, and in fact it is one of the best weight loss motivation tips; set goals. Actually, you should not only set goals, but write them down someplace where you can see them every day. That is a powerful piece of advice, but definitely not the only thing that can help you achieve your weight loss target. Here are some other tips that can help keep you motivated to keep going.
Tip 1 - Stay busy. If you are just laying about all day, cruising the Internet or watching TV, it's easy to focus on eating. It is actually a double whammy, because you are both eating and leading a sedentary lifestyle. If you find some work, hobbies, or interests, it helps keep you from thinking about eating, or using eating as a form of recreation.
Tip 2 - Set achievable milestones, and promise yourself some sort of prize for reaching them. It works best if the prize is not food related. That breaks up your overall weight loss goal into something more manageable, and faster to achieve. Your overall goal may seem a long way off, but if you set a smaller goal, such as 10 lbs, that is far easier to reach, and you're less likely to become discouraged.
Tip 3 - Visualize being thin. That's not like visualize whirled peas, it is something you can actually do. Like many other things worth doing, it takes some practice to become good at it, but when you do, it is a very powerful motivation technique. One key to success here is to spend at least 10 minutes a day, in two different, five minute blocks visualizing. Paint a picture in your mind of yourself after you've lost the weight. You'll be surprised at how powerful visualization is. You can use it for other motivational tasks as well, but for now we'll stick to weight loss. One thing at a time.
Tip 4 - Write down your weight loss progress and what you eat with every meal. This little tip seems so innocuous, but in reality it is one of the most powerful you will use. It is actually clinically proven to help you lose weight! No, really, it's true. In a study done last year and published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine keeping a journal of what you ate and how much you weigh was the most powerful predictor of weight loss for the large group of over 1,800 test subjects. Go grab a notebook as son as you're finished reading this post (but not before).
Tip 5 - Just Do It!! I'm not talking about the Nike ad, but there is a correlation between getting started and motivation. Once you have been focused on something for a certain amount of time you'll naturally want to keep up the routine. Usually this happens within a month or so.
Tip 6 - Think about this: Every action you take brings you either one step closer to your goal or a step farther from it. With every action you take, ask yourself the question - Is this bringing me a step closer to my goal or is it dragging me a step farther away? Ask that with every single thing you do. No more letting one or two seemingly small things slip through the cracks!
Tip 7 - Use the power of music as motivation! Listen to powerful music that gives you that kick in the pants you need to do that extra set, run that extra 5 minutes or just plain tap your feet, instead of putting them up on the coffee table. Music is proven to elevate your mood (unless you're listening to Carpenters tracks from the '70's) and many people use it to motivate their workouts. You can also use it to keep your mind away from eating as a boredom cure.
Tip 8 - Wear tight clothes that show off your body. That doesn't have to mean skin tight, but avoid the baggy sweats that hide everything. Showing off your body will help make you want to make sure it looks it's best. Another clothing related tip is to make a trip to Goodwill whenever your clothes get too big. Drop off your old, big clothes there, and never look back. You can tie this tip in with tip number 2. Every time you get rid of your old clothes, buy yourself some cool, new ones.
These weight loss motivation tips will help you to get rid of that extra fat and keep it off. Once you start losing weight, that is a powerful motivation in itself.

How to Motivate Weight Loss

Many of us want to know how to motivate weight loss. Perhaps you are a little overweight or maybe a lot overweight and you really want to lose a few pounds. You have been on a crash diet to drop a dress or pants size and it worked. Only a few weeks later you were back to your old weight. You tried again and the same thing happened. You know that to avoid this sort of yo-yo dieting you must exercise and eat more healthy food. But that is the problem. You want to lose weight long term but just cannot manage it. Your problem is motivation.
Why should this be? Maybe you have fear of failure - after all you have failed already. Or everybody you know is overweight so why bother anyway. Perhaps you have a self worth problem, or your family is unhelpful. Often there can seem to be more reasons for not doing something than doing it. But if you feel deep down you really want to lose weight and look good you have the beginnings of motivation already. You need a lifestyle change and that may be the difficulty.
What you must do is clear your fridge of junk food and give up snacking on things in packets and drinking fizzy drinks. Keep well away from fast food outlets and cut back on alcohol. Eat less fatty food, sugar and white processed foods. Try to exercise for at least 30 minutes a day by walking or jogging or cycling - any exercise that you enjoy is fine. The idea is to burn more calories through exercise than you take in from your food. If you burn 500 calories a day less than you are at present you will lose 1 pound a week. You need a healthy diet to help out the exercise but 500 calories is only a slice of Victoria Sponge cake, so it is not too difficult to eat a little less food.
There are a few things you can do to improve your motivation.
Get help. A supportive family is the greatest help of all. But joining a group of people working towards the same goal as yourself may be all the motivation you need.
Take your time. Don't expect fast weight loss. It never works long term. Be happy with 1-2 pounds loss a week; that is 26 or even 52 pounds loss in 6 months and is well worth having.
Set targets. Aim to drop a dress size in 3 months or maybe buy theatre tickets or tickets to some other event to look good for a few months away. Book a beach holiday. There's nothing like a target to boost motivation.
Visualise yourself thinner. Think how good you will look and don't forget to take a photo now so you can see results.
Knowing how to motivate weight loss can be difficult, but these are a few easy ways of getting on your way. Just believe you can do it and you will achieve your goal.

Motivating Weight Loss

Over the past several years, I have been high strung in the weight loss game and motivation was never a factor that I considered. Motivating weight loss was so far removed from my mind. Without motivating my weight loss, I was on a roller coaster ride of up and down weight loss and weight gain. It was not until the recent past that I realized I needed motivation to be successful in my quest for losing my unwanted pounds. I have since discovered what was missing from my mission of losing weight and wished that I could have discovered this fact a lot sooner.
As usual, I resolved to lose weight again in 2007. I had no idea of what or how I was going to tackle this feat as I had resolved to lose weight for so many years with no results. At the beginning of 2007, I had a doctor's appointment that resulted in a startling revelation. I was overweight! (Yeah right) I was about 80 pounds overweight! The feelings that made an appearance were horror, anger, depression and the list goes on and on.
Three days after my doctor's appointment, my mind was made up - I will lose 80 pounds during 2007 one-way or another. I still did not know how I was going to do it. Then my mind went to something I never dreamed of before. I started a fast and my motivation for weight loss was found!
I lost fifteen pounds during my five-day fast and I have been losing one to one and one half pounds per week since my fast. The fast motivated me to lose the 80 pounds and the fast gave me the stamina to get through this. I will reach my goal by December 2007.
I am not looking for any specific diet plan because I lost the taste for a lot of the foods I was eating before my fast. My fast has helped me learn how to eat healthy. Eating healthy is helping me to lose weight. I eat as low glycemic as I can. I have stopped eating and drinking 'empty' calories. I have added fruits and vegetables to my daily diet. Without the fruit I have put into my diet, I would be experiencing the weakness that usually accompanies a diet regimen.
Several reasons prohibited me from losing weight. One reason was the weakness that accompanied dieting after a short while. Another reason was the fact that I had poisoned my mind into thinking if I did not eat, I would get a terrible headache. Of course, each time I tried to lose weight, I would get a severe headache. Also, whenever I attempted to lose weight, I would get so nervous. All of these situations were prevalent whenever I tried to lose weight and I know now they were just excuses.
I have been motivated to lose weight, motivated to eat healthily and motivated to incorporate fruits into my weight loss regimen. From all I have learned, fruits are the best source of energy. I have stopped drinking diet cola and I drink only water. Before I found the motivation to lose weight, I would only drink about two glasses of water per week, if I drank any water at all. I preferred to drink diet cola.
Now that I have gotten myself motivated to lose weight, there is a great possibility that I will "step up" my weight loss regimen and reach my goal before December 2007.
